Six technologies, one water problem
Each technology solves part of the water problem. The right choice starts from the water analysis and the product target, not from the equipment. Each page below covers how it works, when to use it and what goes wrong.
RO · reverse osmosis
Removes salts and most dissolved matter through a membrane under pressure.
EDI · electrodeionization
Continuous deionization after RO, with no acid or caustic regeneration.
IER · ion exchange resin
Softening and demineralization on resin beads, regenerated with salt, acid or caustic.
UF · ultrafiltration
Hollow-fiber membranes that stop solids, colloids and bacteria and steady the feed to RO.
UV · ultraviolet
Chemical-free disinfection, TOC reduction, and advanced oxidation in combination.
Ozone · ozone oxidation
Strong oxidation for disinfection, color, odor and persistent organics. CWI builds its own ozone generators.
